Martin Williams Internship

A job description alone isn’t enough to show what it’s like to be a Velocity intern. So, we’re inviting you into our space to see for yourself. This is our world. Immerse yourself in it. Click around. Be curious.

From Start to Finish

This entire project was dreamed up, planned, designed, written, shot, edited, problem-solved, and stressed-out-over by the 2018 Velocity Interns. Just a few short months ago, this project only existed as an idea. It took a lot of hard work, long hours, and collaboration to bring it to life. We passed every roadblock. We resolved every conflict. We got help with the coding, but everything else was up to us.

FAQs

Q: Can I apply for more than one position in the Velocity program?
Yes, but be sure you consider the nuances of each specific application.
Q: If I get into the Velocity program, will it lead to a full-time gig after it’s over?
Our crystal ball is broken. We can’t guarantee employment past the end of the program. That said, we are fortunate to have a pretty great track record of being able to hire directly from the Velocity group, but that is not a guarantee.
Q: Do I need to have an advertising degree or background in order to apply?
Not necessarily. There are many different degree paths that could lead to a job within our industry.
Q: Do I really need to be done with school to be considered for the Velocity program?
Yes, you do. The Velocity program is specifically geared for those who are finished with school.
Q: Where can I find you?
We are located on the 9th floor of the Fifth Street Towers in Downtown Minneapolis. If you need something to type into your GPS: 150 S. Fifth St., Suite 900, Minneapolis, MN 55402.
Q: What positions are available through Velocity?
We’ve had positions in account management, digital strategy, media, and DPA, but every year brings new internship opportunities. Check back in February to see what positions will be available in 2019.
Q: What are the specific dates of the Velocity program?
The Velocity internship is typically 4 months long and runs from June-October. Come back in February for more information.
Q: Will I get paid?
Yep—the Velocity program is a paid internship.
Q: How many people will get interviews for the Velocity positions?
It sort of depends. We will go through the applications and narrow them down to those we think could be wonderful in the Velocity program. That could mean we’d be seeing as few as a couple, or as many as eight or nine, for each position.
Q: Is it OK to be a Velocity team member and own a pet at the same time?
We think so, yes. Please just remember to feed them.
